Celebrating Women's Creativity
We invite you to participate in the 14th annual event celebrating women's
creativity, Women's Gifts.
Date: Saturday, November 13, 2010 Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Asbury Hall at Babeville (Ani DiFranco's venue formerly
known as "The Church"), 341 Delaware Avenue (at West
Tupper). We are thrilled to be in this
celebrated space, created by Ani DiFranco & company, which captures the spirit
of Women’s Gifts. Items for Sale: Hats, mittens, sachet bags, handbags, jewelry, pottery, cast
paper bowls, paper mache boxes, photography, stained glass, neckties, vases, and
MUCH MORE! Musical Guests: TBD Food: TBD
This event is FREE to visitors. We encourage all to attend!
Vendors: We are again seeking women to sell their wares at the event. We give
preference to artists from the Buffalo/Western New York area. The
purpose of this event is to support the creativity of women, so we are
seeking handcrafted wares from the many talented women artisans in Western
New York.
As always, there will be musicians performing throughout the day.
Food and drink will be available for purchase. There is no admission
to the event itself, but we will collect donations throughout the event from
all attendees to pay the musicians.
The registration fee for a table this year is $110. Each year,
spaces becomes more and more limited, so please reserve your table
immediately. All registration requests will be accommodated on a
first-come, first-served basis. Your registration fee includes one 6 foot
table and 2 chairs. Please note that the tables need to be staffed by
women. Please indicate on the application form if you do
not need the actual table (there is no discount for not using the actual
table).
Vendors will be notified of set-up times as we get closer to the event.
Various levels of the church will be open for set-up at staggered times.
All tables are claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. Any woman who
does not claim her table by 9:30 a.m. will forfeit the table. No refunds will
be given in case of forfeiture. In case of an emergency, you may call
Bernadette at 228-7260 at any time during the event.
If you need access to electricity, or have other needs, plan to be there
promptly to claim your table! You must bring your own extension cords.
We cannot guarantee availability of outlets.

Rules and Regulations Before completing the application, please be sure to read the following
rules and regulations.
Location and Times of Operation
- Artists may set up at designated times to be determined. All tables are
claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. Tables must be
claimed by 9:30 a.m. or the table may be forfeited. Selling
begins at 10 a.m.
- Sellers, please remain set up until 5 p.m., unless prior permission
by Women's Gift committee is given. We ask that you do not leave
early since it can be unsafe and empty spaces late in the festival day
create a negative impact for late festival shoppers.
- Sellers must have their festival site dismantled, packed up, and
cleaned within one hour of festival closing.
- If you need access to electricity, or have other needs, plan to be
there promptly at 8:30 a.m. to claim your table. You must bring
your own extension cords. We cannot guarantee availability of
outlets.
- The festival is open Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 5
p.m. at the Asbury Hall at Babeville (Ani DiFranco's venue formerly
known as "The Church"), 341 Delaware Avenue (at West Tupper).
Who May Sell at the Festival?
- Our festival policy is to strive for 100% female handcrafted
products. There may be exceptions to be considered by the Women's
Gift Committee. All decisions made by the committee will be final.
- The use of the festival is restricted to those who are women,
producers of handcrafted products or other vendors approved by the
Women's Gift committee.
- The Women's Gift Committee has the right to request that a seller
remove from sale any products or items which are not handcrafted by the
seller if the sale of such products impedes on the sale of one of our
artists.
- The Women's Gift Committee will make the final determination of whom
will be approved to sell products at the festival.
- After the application deadline, any artists wishing to join the
festival will be determined by the Women's Gift Committee. The
Committee will consider the state of the festival, whether the festival
will benefit from another like artists, and if this product will dilute
the profitability of our existing artists. The decision made by
the committee is final.
What May be Sold at the Festival?
- All artists must be in compliance with all local, state and federal
laws, statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances, certifications, and
standards that apply to their product, including ingredient labeling.
- All products for sale should be priced and labeled clearly and
displayed in a manner that does not confuse the customer.
- The Women's Gifts Festival is a small scale event. The
Committee reserves the right to limit the number of sellers of
particular products.
Guidelines for Selling at the Festival
- Each artist will be responsible for all equipment and supplies for
the setup of their space with the exception of the table provided.
Displays should be constructed in such a way that they do not block
customer walk ways or pose any other hazard to customers or other
artists.
- Artists are required to keep their festival space neat and clear of
obstacles, litter, and debris.
- No form of discrimination is permitted at the market.
- Artists are expected to treat customers in a courteous manner.
- Artists must clean their sales area and remove all refuse at the end
of the day.
- No hawking or amplified music is permitted at the festival, except
as provided by the festival itself.
- All products offered for sale must be of good quality and condition.
The Women's Gift Committee reserves the right to direct that inferior
goods be removed from display. Failure to remove products deemed
inferior will be reported to the Women's Gift Committee and may result
in loss of festival privileges.
- All artists agree to abide by fair business practices. Willful
and/or significant price undercutting is not allowed. Price, terms
of sale, etc. are between buyer and seller only.
Assignment of Space
Spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
